| 10th Anniversary Banquet
The LANL Foundation was proud to welcome Raul Midón as the featured performer at the 10th Annual Banquet.
Midón is a world-renown, New Mexico-born, singer, songwriter, and acoustic guitarist with a stunning percussive style and silky voice. His
uplifting songs of love and life are steeped in folk, soul, jazz, and Latin influences.
In 2006, the LANL Foundation celebrated its 10th anniversary as a regional foundation investing in education, learning, and
community development in Northern New Mexico. The banquet was held on Saturday, October 21, 2006 at La Fonda on the Plaza in Santa Fe.
Proceeds from the event went to support the Los Alamos
Employees’ Scholarship Fund a scholarship program administered by the LANL Foundation and primarily funded by LANL employees,
retirees, and contractors. Keynote speaker and former scholarship recipient Maria Alvarado spoke about her educational journey from Espanola
to Harvard University.
In addition to recognizing the scholarship program, the LANL Foundation’s 10th Anniversary Banquet celebrated over $20 million awarded to more than 1300 schools, nonprofit organizations, and Pueblo communities through its grants program. The LANL Foundation’s newest initiative,
First Born® Program, was introduced at the event.
