Mike Ammerman

Driven by a passion for supporting youth and expanding access to higher education, Mike Ammerman, a first-generation college student, serves as Scholarship Program Director at the LANL Foundation. He oversees scholarship programs and initiatives that help Northern New Mexico students succeed academically and engage with their communities. With over 25 years of experience working with diverse youth populations—in schools, residential programs, and community organizations—Mike brings expertise in scholarship administration, program design, and student support. Before joining the Foundation, he directed programs at the Simon Charitable Foundation, Santa Fe Public Schools, and the Santa Fe Mountain Center, focusing on college access, experiential education, and leadership development. Outside of work, Mike enjoys exploring the mountains, mesas, and wide-open spaces of Northern New Mexico.
