2017 Silver Scholar Jennifer Necker

I would like to express my thanks once again for your generosity for the continued scholarship. I had a wonderful first year at Eckerd College taking many classes. I even got to take a trip to Cuba in January to study some of the marine research that has been going on there in the Gardens of the Queen.

I have just returned to New Mexico after completing a National Science Foundation funded research experience for undergraduates at the University of Delaware where I studied manganese speciation and cycling in the Chesapeake Bay.

I will be heading back to Eckerd in a week, and I am very excited for my second year and especially Organic Chemistry. The LANL Foundation scholarship is greatly appreciated in helping this new year be possible along with another trip in January through my school.

Thank you all so much and I am still honored to have received the Silver Award,

Jennifer Necker
